(Sept 2008)
This project examined skills development frameworks in the electrotechnology industry in a range of countries with the objective of strengthening alignment between these frameworks and the Australian framework. The final project report provides a comparative analysis of both the vocational education and training system and the competency framework across the ten FAPECA countries/regions (Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand). It provides a detailed mapping of skills and highlights the competencies that are common across all or most countries. Finally, a competency and skills matrix was developed which shows the key areas of the role of electrician in the ten countries/regions.
This report was produced in partnership by BGA and NECA and funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
