This report focuses on Indigenous employment in the Australian Rail Industry and the options and case studies outlined in this document are a result of research conducted of ARA Member Companies involved in Indigenous employment initiatives. The first part of the report outlines options for increasing Indigenous employment in the rail industry and provides real life examples. The second part of the report highlights the key success factors for Indigenous employment in rail and includes case studies demonstrating these. Some of the key success factors include: organisational commitment, partnerships, recruitment strategies, retention strategies, and education and training.
