This report describes NECA’s National Indigenous Employment Plan and its goal of increasing the Indigenous participation rate in the electrical and communications industry. The report provides advice about Indigenous employment and how to promote a holistic approach to Indigenous employment. It outlines how NECA will assist its members to implement Indigenous Employment Strategies and how it will support Indigenous employees. The report provides examples of existing indigenous training and employment programs. The role of the indigenous employment and training coordinators is outlined and some potential role models/industry ambassadors identified. The different State/Territory Indigenous Employment Plans are attached as an appendix to this report.
