(April 2009)
This report highlights the results of research and extensive consultation undertaken in the electrotechnology industry throughout 2007 and 2008, and provides an overview of the industry. The project was the most ambitious ever attempted in the industry and involved extensive research and consultation with around 5,500 industry representatives, employers, employees, registered training organisations, group training organisations and other key stakeholders. This report identifies skills shortages in the electrotechnology industry and this was achieved through a combination of research, workshops and employer and employee surveys. The details of the findings are illustrated in the report and key recommendations are provided.
This report was produced in partnership by BGA and the National Retailers Association and funded by the Australian Government.
