(Oct 2008)
The purpose of this report is to address the need for a Recruitment and Profiling tool specifically for the retail industry. The report is structured around two key areas. The first outlines the key attributes for overall employability in the retail sector including the concept of a skills framework based on personal attributes (sometimes described as “soft skills”). The second examines the feasibility of a Recruitment and Profiling Tool. Existing recruitment tools are examined, including the hospitality tool, and how they can be customized for the retail industry. The last section provides recommendations on how the industry should proceed and what actions are required.
This report was produced in partnership by BGA and the National Retailers Association and funded by the Australian Government.
